Income-Driven Repayment Plan Request Form
Revised: February 26, 2025
Published: January 01, 2016

Applying for an Income-Driven Repayment (IDR) plan or recertifying your income for an IDR plan requires an application. Normally, you can submit that application electronically via studentaid.gov. However, recently, the Department of Education has removed the electronic application and PDF application for IDR. Attached you will find the PDF IDR application.

It's unclear if previously submitted recertifications or applications are being processed. Follow your applications or recertification closely. Watch for changes in your student loan repayment status.

If you need to provide updated income information for an IDR plan you're using now or you would like to try to apply for IBR while the applications are down, you can attempt submitting this completed PDF directly to your loan servicer or sending it via post mail (ideally, certified mail).

No one in the SAVE forbearance is required to renew their income information until at least 2026.

Printing tip: Place your mouse over the embedded PDF document below and use the printer button on the Acrobat toolbar menu to print the PDF instead of your web browser's print function.
