Veterinary Proceedings Team Member
Veterinary Information Network (VIN) seeks an organized, quick-learning, self-starter as an integral part of the Proceedings team. The position is for someone experienced in converting, formatting, and copyediting veterinary content; it is not ideal for those without prior experience in this area. This position is full-time. VIN main offices are located in Davis, CA but remote employment will be considered. No relocation expenses are included.
The ideal candidate’s responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Developing online content from a large volume of medical/veterinary, electronic and print sources using MS Word and a custom content management system
- Formatting content to specifications; maintaining a consistent look and feel throughout all documents
- Proofreading with occasional, minimal editing of content
- Tracking and reporting project progress
Required skills:
- Knowledge of medical/scientific terminology
- Strong Microsoft Word skills; basic skills in the other Microsoft Office Suite programs
- Exceptional organization and time-management skills
- Ability to complete projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Ability to focus on a single task for long periods without losing high attention to detail
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with HTML
- General Internet experience
- Basic image manipulation software skills (GIMP, Adobe Photoshop or other)
- Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with onsite and remote team members
