Veterinary Proceedings Team Member

Veterinary Information Network (VIN) seeks an organized, quick-learning, self-starter as an integral part of the Proceedings team. The position is for someone experienced in converting, formatting, and copyediting veterinary content; it is not ideal for those without prior experience in this area. This position is full-time. VIN main offices are located in Davis, CA but remote employment will be considered. No relocation expenses are included.

The ideal candidate’s responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Developing online content from a large volume of medical/veterinary, electronic and print sources using MS Word and a custom content management system
  • Formatting content to specifications; maintaining a consistent look and feel throughout all documents
  • Proofreading with occasional, minimal editing of content
  • Tracking and reporting project progress

Required skills:

  • Knowledge of medical/scientific terminology
  • Strong Microsoft Word skills; basic skills in the other Microsoft Office Suite programs
  • Exceptional organization and time-management skills
  • Ability to complete projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to focus on a single task for long periods without losing high attention to detail
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with HTML
  • General Internet experience
  • Basic image manipulation software skills (GIMP, Adobe Photoshop or other)
  • Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with onsite and remote team members
