There are several different broad categories of thinking/learning styles. In this lecture we will discuss a model based on the Hermann Whole Brain model. Through the lecture you will be able to get a broad idea of your preferred thinking and learning style and how this relates to clinical problem solving.

How Does This Relate to Teaching and Learning?
Educational activities that recognise and work with this model ensure that learners' preferred thinking styles are accommodated and less preferred thinking styles are developed.
The Challenge
If teachers teach exclusively in a manner that favour their students' less preferred learning style modes, the students discomfort level may be great enough to interfere with their learning.
However, if teachers teach exclusively to their students' preferred modes the students may not develop the mental dexterity they need to reach their potential for achievement
