Course Information:
Common bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic zoonoses encountered by the veterinary professional will be covered. Clinical presentation in both animals and humans will be reviewed. Treatment and tests for these diseases will also be discussed. Prevention of transmission and protection of veterinary staff and clients will be explored.

Segment 1: What are Zoonoses?
The first section in this course will review the definition of zoonotic disease and explain how these diseases are transmitted. We will also examine how to prevent transmission and the most effective ways to keep staff safe from infection.
Segment 2:
Bacterial Zoonoses?
This section will review common bacterial zoonotic diseases and their treatment. This will include Leptospirosis, Brucellosis, Salmonella, Listeriosis and Bartonella Henselea
Segment 3:
Viral Zoonoses
This section will review common viral zoonotic disease and their treatment. These will include Rabies, West Nile Virus, H1N1, Cornoaviruses and Ebola.
Segment 4:
Fungal and Parasitic Zoonoses
This section will review common fungal and parasitic zoonoses and their treatment. These will include Giardia, Toxoplasmosis, Babesiosis, Lesmaniasis, Ringworm and Toxocara.
