Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) have been shown to alter immune responses and reduce inflammation through direct interactions with T-cells, NK cells, neutrophils and dendritic cells, and by increasing regulatory T cells (Tregs). MSC can be generated from adult tissues and do not induce a clinical immune response when delivered to allogeneic recipients.
