This report concerns a captive, juvenile female Ganges River dolphin (Platanista gangetica) with a history of weight loss and debility. The animal harbored various types of helminthic parasites, among those being a liver fluke, Cyclorchis campula. The bile ducts contained large numbers of these flukes causing biliary hyperplasia and fibroplasia. The heavy parasitism in this animal could have contributed towards the clinical signs and eventual death.
