The objective of this study was to study the electrocardiography in elder healthy dogs who were presented to Veterinary Hospital Governador Laudo Natel (HVGLN) of FCAV--Unesp--Jaboticabal for several proceedings.

Eighty-five healthy dogs between males and females, of several races weighting until 15Kg and with age equal or upper three years were submitted to computer electrocardiography TEB3. The animals were divided four groups: G1 (n = 25) dogs with three years until six years; G2 (n=22), dogs with six years and one month until nine years; G3 (n=23), dogs with nine years and one month to twelve years and finally G4 (n=15) dogs with age equal or upper twelve years and one month. Were studied all the electrocardiographic parameters used by the Service of Cardiology of HVGLN--FCAV--Unesp--Jaboticabal, high (PmV) and duration (Pms) of P wave, high (QRS mV) and duration (QRS ms) of QRS Complex, Interval PR (PR ms), Segment QT (QT ms), Heart rate, T wave, Segment ST, Electrical axis and Cardiac Rhythm. The statistical method was used to detect mean difference between the groups Type error was set at 5%.

All the parameters were within normal limits in all groups with no significant difference between groups, except PR interval and Segment ST. However Interval PR there was a significant difference in their mean and standard deviation values between the groups G2, G3 and G4 meeting these follow values for this parameter: G2= 79,36ms; G3=94,73 ms and G4= 94,86 ms. Making a comparison with the heart rate G2=131,59 bpm; G3= 121,60bpm; G4= 116, 93bpm, we can conclude that how higher is the heart rate, shorter will be the conduction time through the atria and the atrioventricular node to the bundle of Hiss (HANLIM, 1972). And hows ST segment evaluated statically by Exact Test of Fischer there was significant difference between females by G1 (0%) and G3 (13,50%), but this test showed us that the frequency of the occurrence of ST segment (elevated, depressed and normal) do not depend of the groups.

Concluding we got standating the electrocardiography in elder and adult healthy dogs providing references values to scientific community.
