In March, 1980, a large number of fur seals were stranded in the Seattle, Washington, area. Investigations and analyses for fluoride levels (1981) suggested that some of the animals had died from poisoning due to a spill of sodium fluoro-titinate. This resulted in a study of heavy metals by the authors (IAAAM Proceedings 1984).

This paper is the final part of the project on these seals and presents data and a discussion of the probability that the chemical spill was the cause of death for the animals.
