Tritrichomonas foetus infections in surveyed pet cats
We requested fecal samples, via veterinarians throughout the United States, from cats with or without clinical signs of trichomoniasis. Of the 173 feline fecal samples received from veterinarians, 17 were culture and PCR positive for T. foetus.
Venereal transmission of canine visceral leishmaniasis
Twelve Leishmania-free bitches, housed in the absence of the insect vector, copulated with multiple naturally infected dogs that were shedding Leishmania in the semen. PCR analysis of serially collected ejaculates indicated that shedding of Leishmania in the semen is intermittent. Three bitches seroconverted, and six were PCR positive by the end of the experimental period (165 days after the last copulation).
Multiple-azole-resistant Aspergillus fumigatus osteomyelitis in a patient with chronic granulomatous disease successfully treated with long-term oral posaconazole and surgery
The patient was treated with extensive surgery and two weeks of caspofungin therapy, followed by one year of posaconazole therapy. He made a complete recovery and did not experience any side effects.

Castrating a cryptorchid goat
They don't want to spend a ton of money and are to the point that it stinks so bad the don't care if it lives or dies. Is it possible to explore for a retained testicle in the field....I am very hesitant to open this goat up!!
Stifle arthroscopy tips
What works best for me is to make my scope portal just lateral to the patellar tendon, about 1/3 of the way up from the tibial tuberosity to the patella (instrument portal is its mirror image on the medial side of the patellar tendon).
Is it ethical to breed a doberman that has color dilution alopecia (CDA)?
In a blue dobe *with* color dilution alopecia though, we *know* all the factors are there and, in my opinion, it would not be ethical to breed either this dog or its parents!
Dog ate large amount of gummi bear candy: what problems are likely?
We had a dog who ate a couple of pounds of gummi bears and died from severe hypernatremia.
