COURSE DESCRIPTION
Overview:
The veterinary profession has held onto many "habits" from our days as an ambulatory truck running the back roads of farm country. One of the most limiting habits is the doctor-centered, linear operational format of the practice operations. This course will explore core values and standards of care as it applies to client-centered practice advocacy, and leveraging the doctor's limited time, to increase responsiveness, quality, and practice success factors. The history of team building in veterinary medicine has usually detracted from the mission focus, yet the mission focus is the best environment to amplify team-based healthcare delivery. The paradigms of veterinary medicine will be compared to other healthcare professions which produce far more income per provider than veterinary medicine has ever experienced, without adding time or sacrificing essential quality of life factors.
