COURSE DESCRIPTION
The What Makes Cats Tick? Feline Internal Medicine series will take a close look at a variety of feline-specific topics taught by our knowledgeable instructors. This series is open to all veterinarians with an interest in feline medicine. We are planning on five modules to be taught throughout 2007. Here are the course topics which will be covered throughout the entire series: Physiology, GI, Nutrition, Endocrine, Urinary, Respiratory, Cardiovascular, Dermatology, Behavior, Therapeutics, Analgesia, Anesthesia and Dental Dilemmas.

The fourth module will cover Dermatology and Behavior topics in feline medicine.

Course Outline:

Week 1 (August 15):
The ring cycle: dermatophytoses (Foil)

Week 2 (August 22):
Dermatopathies of the feet and face: Week 3 (August 29):
Handling, housing, stress, environmental enrichment: how to work with cats and are we making them sick? (Calnon and Seksel)

Week 4 (September 5):
Taking a bite out of feline aggression (Calnon and Seksel)

Week 5 (September 12):
Cat society, social organization and normal behavior (Curtis)

Discussions will begin on the start date of the course and will continue for 7 days following the last real time session.

COURSE WITHDRAWAL AND REFUND POLICY: Withdrawal prior to the listed start date of a course entitles the registrant to a complete refund or a credit toward a future VIN CE course, whichever is preferred. Withdrawal within 1 week after the listed start date (i.e. including no more than one real-time session) entitles the registrant to a credit toward any future VIN CE course. (Does not apply to courses with only one real-time session.) After the first real-time session, a registrant may withdraw due to special circumstances and receive prorated credit towards a future VIN course. These requests will be handled on an individual basis. The amount of the prorated credit will be determined based on 65% of the time remaining in the course at the time of withdrawal. It is not possible to withdraw retroactively.
