COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course in Veterinary Dental Techniques is designed to allow discussions of current techniques used in veterinary dentistry. Veterinarians practicing all levels of veterinary dentistry are invited to participate, from the veterinarian just interested in getting more information in veterinary dentistry to the Board Certified Veterinary Dentist.
The sixth module discusses anesthesia, both local and general, pre-, intra- and post-operative pain management. The last portion is devoted to health, safety and ergonomics of veterinary dentistry and designing the dental suite.
Course Outline:
Week 1 (June 23):
General anesthesia, classification of anesthesia patients, preanesthetic medications, anesthetic agents, postoperative pain medications (Kressin)
Week 2 (June 30):
Advantages of local dental blocks, local anesthesia agents, areas that can be blocked, techniques
Week 3 (July 7):
General health safety and ergonomics, personal protection, ergonomic disease syndromes and prevention, dental suite design (Holmstrom)

The Veterinary Dental Techniques Modules are each separate courses; you may enroll in one or all if you wish and there is no prerequisite.

COURSE WITHDRAWAL AND REFUND POLICY: Withdrawal prior to the listed start date of a course entitles the registrant to a complete refund or a credit toward a future VIN CE course, whichever is preferred. Withdrawal within 1 week after the listed start date (i.e. including no more than one real-time session) entitles the registrant to a credit toward any future VIN CE course. (Does not apply to courses with only one real-time session.) After the first real-time session, a registrant may withdraw due to special circumstances and receive prorated credit towards a future VIN course. These requests will be handled on an individual basis. The amount of the prorated credit will be determined based on 65% of the time remaining in the course at the time of withdrawal.
