Enable JavaScript

INDEX

VIN and many other sites use a programming language called JavaScript to enhance your experience. To enable your computer to understand JavaScript and get the most from VIN, please follow the steps that apply to your browser.

Windows Internet Explorer (IE)

Internet Explorer 7 and Internet Explorer 8 (Figure 1) and Internet Explorer 6 (Figure 2) :

  1. On the Internet Explorer Tools menu, click Internet Options, and then click the Security tab.
  2. Click the Custom Level.
  3. In the Security Settings – Internet Zone dialog box, scroll down to the Scripting section and click Enable for Active Scripting.

Mozilla Firefox

Firefox:

  1. On the Firefox Tools menu, click Options (Figure 3a).
  2. On the Content tab, click to select the Enable JavaScript check box (Figure 3b).
  3. Click OK to close the Options window (Figure 3b).

Google Chrome

Chrome:

  1. In the Safari top menu bar, click the wrench Customize and control Google Chrome icon (Customize and control Google Chrome), then click Options (Figure 4a).
  2. In the Google Chrome Options dialog box, click to select the Under the Hood tab (Figure 4b).
  3. Click the Content settings button, and then click the JavaScript under Features list (Figure 4c).
  4. Select Allow all sites to run JavaScript (Figure 4c).

Safari

Safari for Windows:

  1. On the Safari settings icon, click Preferences (Figure 5a).
  2. Click on Security icon (Figure 5b).
  3. Select Enable JavaScript next to Web content (Figure 5b).

Safari for Mac:

  1. Select Safari from the top menu and click Preferences (Figure 6a).
  2. Click on Security icon (Figure 6b).
  3. Select Enable JavaScript next to Web content (Figure 6b).
